ACCOUNTING PRINCIPLES
Scope 1
Scope 1 emissions include the company's direct emissions of greenhouse gases from its own sources, such as combustion plants,
process equipment and the company's own and leased vehicles. The consumption of fossil fuels in the 昀椀nancial year (e.g. natural gas,
oil and diesel) is calculated on the basis of bills or tank data and converted to CO₂e using standardized emission factors. Emissions are
calculated in tonnes of CO₂e.
Scope 2
Scope 2 emissions include indirect greenhouse gas emissions resulting from electricity and district heating consumed. The calculation
follows the location-based method, where emissions are calculated based on the average emission factor for the electricity and heating system in Denmark. The consumption is read in kWh from bills or meters and converted to CO₂e in tonnes.
CO₂e
CO₂e (carbon dioxide equivalent) is a standard unit for measuring greenhouse gases. It expresses the impact of di昀昀erent greenhouse
gases in terms of the amount of CO₂ that would create the same warming e昀昀ect, making it possible to report all emissions in a single
comparable 昀椀gure.
Water
Water consumption covers the total amount of water that the company uses in the 昀椀nancial year. The amount is based on information
from water bills or meters and is calculated in cubic meters (m³).
Waste
Waste in Wencon is de昀椀ned into hazardous waste and non-hazardous waste (general waste).
